KN95 and N95 face masks can be used for new coronavirus protection, but they belong to the type of "particulate protection masks". At present, KN95 and N95 masks are different from "medical protective masks", "medical surgical masks" and "single-use medical masks" and are not regulated as medical devices. But for their protective role, many authorities have given positive answers.

Experts say that N95 masks and KN95 face masks have a filtration efficiency of up to 95%, but N95 medical protection face masks can also meet the medical protection requirements of blocking blood, body fluids and other splashes and surface moisture resistance, which is more suitable for use by medical personnel in direct contact with patients or infected people and other high-risk scenarios.

In contrast, KN95 particulate protection face masks are suitable for use in environments with high risk of exposure to potential contaminants, foreign import and contamination transmission.
