From March to the end of May, due to the epidemic in Shanghai, the operation of Shanghai Port could not be carried out as usual, and it became difficult to deliver goods to Shanghai Port, and the inland freight to Shanghai Port also increased wildly. Most logistics companies have stopped accepting goods to Shanghai port during these months, and we are advised to send to other ports. Now with the resumption of work and production in Shanghai, we have also begun to resume arranging deliveries to Shanghai Port.
Since June 1, Shanghai has entered a stage of fully restoring normal production and living order. In the past few days, the cargo volume of Shanghai's sea and air ports has continued to rise, and the daily container throughput of Shanghai Port has risen to more than 95% of the normal level. Since June, the daily container throughput of Shanghai Port has exceeded 119,000 TEUs. Among them, at Yangshan Port, the average daily export declaration volume during the closure and control period in Shanghai was 7,000 orders, but since June 1, the daily export declaration volume has increased to 11,000 orders, an increase of more than 50%.
Shanghai's upcoming "retaliatory export" will bring greater pressure to the port department. In order to improve efficiency, major shipping companies "take back the lost time", and the time from opening to berthing for container ships has been compressed from 48 hours in the normal period to 24 hours or even 16 hours. In this way, the time left for the entry, inspection and loading of export goods is greatly reduced, and any delay in the logistics of goods may increase the risk of "dropping the box". At present, the relevant units of Shanghai port are actively allocating resources to ensure the timely shipment of export goods.
